Canada House Co-Workers Celebrate First Birthday!
Twelve months ago we officially launched the Canada House co-working space on the ground floor of the stunning Grade II listed, central Manchester building.
The 19th century ex-textile warehouse was already home to some big business brands leasing the upper levels, but with values steeped in community and social impact, opening an affordable, sustainable and flexible co-working space was an obvious step for us.
We knew that having this amazing building right in the heart of Manchester city centre meant that we had a fantastic opportunity to help up and coming businesses and social enterprises to network and collaborate. Whilst the rest of Canada House is occupied by big brands and is home to a healthy mix of commercial and not-for-profits, we wanted to create a new space to support small firms and individuals who would massively benefit from this central location and access to the wider ecosystem of the building.
Home to an impressive collection of reputable employers, creative, tech and community-focused organisations, Canada House boasts long-lease offices, a modern cafe, meeting rooms, event space, a swimming pool and gym. The co-working community operate out of a beautifully designed, light, bright and modern workspace close to the Cafe on the ground floor. The space has capacity for 24 co-workers who rent desk space by the month, enjoy a vibrant events programme, on-site business support, reduced membership to the resident Bannatyne gym and discounted rates at The Clink Cafe.
Co-working is a fantastic way of working, whether you are self-employed, in a small team or a remote worker. It is enjoyed by millions of people around the world - but there are many different types of co-working spaces, co-working models and membership types; it can be hard to compare one space or one community with another. We hope that we can offer a brand new experience - one that will simplify the co-working movement and get more people excited about the many benefits this approach to working can bring. We are very proud of our space and our co-working community and look forward to sharing it more widely.
